Q magazine top of the pops look a likeYes, the eagle eyed will spot that this is a com*act di*c, but I was fascinated to see how a cover concept which started life back in 1969 is still resonating through graphic design life 30 or more years on.
This was a cover mounted giveaway from the funsters at Q magazine, with ‘the year’s essential tracks’ from 2004.
But the designers (three are listed which seems a tad excessive for a four-page CD booklet but still) clearly had the bright idea to reference the Top Of The Pops look and layout, even to the extent of sourcing a vintage pin-up cover girl (the library isn’t credited).
