Do it yourself

You might have thought that designer Barney Bubbles was breaking new ground with his brilliant Do It Yourself album sleeve for Ian Dury (which was done on 27 different types of original wallpaper when it first appeared in 1979!), but we wonder…

I found these home made sleeves for singles in a charity store this week, and couldn’t resist picking them up. Just pieces clipped from a wallpaper sample book, cut to size (roughly), folded over and taped up the sides. And they’ve lasted some forty plus years (if the singles in them were original).
Who needs an iPod skin?
Check out some regular 7″ paper sleeves here.
UPDATE – I found two more recently so have now put all four on the page.
